receiver sessions started in 2024, in a group chat, with an argument: what would dive have sounded like as a post-rock record? someone made it. it was terrible, then it was interesting, then it was beautiful. we kept going — one song, one genre at a time — and the pile of covers became a library, the arguments became a wiki, and the group chat became this site.
the name comes from epoch’s closing track. a receiver is a passive thing: it doesn’t broadcast, it listens. that felt right for a fan project. we are not trying to improve tycho, replace tycho, or be tycho. we are listening closely, in public, and writing down what we hear.
what this site is
a library of covers that reimagine tycho in other genres, lovingly made by fans with a little help from artificial intelligence, and honestly labelled. a fan-written encyclopedia of the music, the gear, and the design. a gallery of tribute art. a phone line where fans leave messages about what the music means to them. nothing here is for sale; there are no ads and there never will be.
the disclaimer, at full length
receiver sessions is a non-commercial fan tribute. it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to tycho, scott hansen, iso50, ghostly international, mom + pop music, or any of their representatives. all original compositions, recordings, artwork, and trademarks remain the property of their respective rights holders. the covers hosted here are fan-made reimaginings, created with the help of artificial intelligence as transformative tribute works; they are labelled as such, and they are not distributed for profit in any form.
the takedown promise
if scott hansen, the band, the label, or any rights holder asks us to remove anything — a cover, an image, an article, the whole site — we will take it down immediately, without argument and without needing a formal notice. one email is enough. the music was a gift to us; keeping it respectful is the least we can do.
contact
corrections to the wiki, submissions for the sessions, takedown requests, or just a hello: hello@receiversessions.com. we answer everything, slowly, usually on sundays.
